MUAY THAI

About

ABOUT US

We are a thai boxing gym in East Auckland, New Zealand bringing you an authentic, fun and safe training environment.

Muay thai, or thai boxing, is the 'art of eight limbs' involving kicking, punching, knee and elbow.  Come join our gym where you can learn new skills and make new friends.

Established in Howick in November 2018, Wimbledon and Theresa opened Wimbledon Muay Thai with one goal in mind - to share their love of the sport and culture and make it accessible to everyone.

OUR CLASSES

1

Kids classes

'Muay dek' are our kids classes.  Starting from as young as 6 years old, our kids classes involve supervised pad / bag work, fitness and technique.

Our younger group (6-9yrs) will typically learn technique through pad work with trainers.  Our older group (10-15yrs) will practice in partnered pad work.  Our mixed aged classes (6-15yrs) will cater for both groups.

2

Adult fitness classes

'Muay mai' (beginners) and 'Muay siam' (fitness) are our adult fitness classes.  Both classes involve pad / bag work,  technique and fitness appropriate for each level.

3

Sparring classes

We have 3 sparring classes.  Our Open pad/sparring class involve both padwork and sparring; Beginner sparring is an introductory class to sparring for members only; and Fighters class is our advanced class for our fighters only.  All sessions involve sparring, clinching and fitness.  Sparring classes require trainer approval to attend and full protective gear is required.

All classes and training requires your own gear, including handwraps and gloves.

We also offer Private Training for single, double or groups.  However, with limited availability, please contact us directly.
